Kiss, Bow, or Shake Hands; How to do Business in Sixty Countries
Book Review by: Sarah J Frey
I selected this book because it was the only one of the three they had at Library Limited.  I'm glad that it was because it has already turned out to be very useful - the President of my company requested information on two separate countries this week alone.  This book belongs on the bookshelf of any executive conducting business in a foreign country.

The book was hard to read cover to cover, but it was an interesting cross-culture comparison.  The brief information is a good starting point for individuals wanting to learn more about a certain country, but it would also make a great review to keep in our briefcase if your making several foreign stops.  The information was practical and insightful regarding all areas of business negotiations.

This book will help you answer questions such as punctuality, what to wear, the dinner meeting, and topics of conversation to avoid.  You'll also learn if it's necessary to send a gift and what kind of gifts are acceptable. The book even describes if, when, and how to present business cards.  This book is a mini-handbook jammed with useful information.

I recommend reading the section on the United States.  The section is intriguing because it's analyzing your own behavior.  Things Americans take for granted in business practices are not necessarily the norm.  This is one book I will definitely not be returning to the bookstore at the end of the semester, or in business terms, this book has a very high rate of return.
