Course Description and Goals:
This course is a general survey of the importance of business communication in commerce.  It is designed to help you gain valuable insights into understanding, communicating with, and motivating people in the business environment.    Leadership strategies will be presented to help you acquire the awareness and expertise needed to communicate and succeed in the world of business.  Class participation, thoughtful communication and effective writing are important skills needed to successfully complete this course.  Why enroll in this course?  To: 1) expand your competencies in writing in the emphatic and active voice style for different stockholders; 2) learn to present under difficult and unplanned circumstances; 3) evaluate the work of others and deliver constructive feedback; 4) manage better meetings; and 5) enhance your ability to write and evaluate corporate strategy documents.

 Course Requirements:
 Being on time is important.  All assignments that are not completed on time will be marked down.   All students registered in this class will be required to attend class sessions and complete all assignments. Students must provide and receive constructive feedback.  Note: Instructor has discretion to assign make-up work in case of absence(s).  Students will be required to actively communicate with the instructor by email.
