Managers' Forum ~ Website ReviewsASIAN BUSINESS
Review by: Chris RiggioThe web site that I have decided to review is called Asian Business.
This web site provides such an enormous amount of information regarding doing
business in Asia that it is hard to write a review that would give it
justice. When in this web page, there are twenty different topics that one
can choose from. These topics are:
Companies
Corporate Strategies
Countries
Development and Aid
Economics
Environment
Finance
Human Resources
Information Technology
Innovation
Leon Richardson online
Management
Marketing
Oddities
Opinion
Others
Telecommunications
Trade
Travel and Tourism
T.V. and Media
When search through these twenty topics I found that some topics were of
more use than others. The first of these more useful topics is Corporate
Strategies. This topic shows some of the strategies taken by some of the
bigger corporation in Asia to try to secure market share. The only bad thing
about this section is that the article titles do not inform you as what
country or business the article is referring to. Therefore, you have to
begin to read each article to find out.
A second topic that I found that was of great use was Countries. This
topic gave great insight as what was going on in various Asian Countries.
Such information included political, legal, cultural, economic, and business
titles. However, this section also has the same downfall as the Corporate
Strategies section.
The last topic that I found of great interest was the Environmental
section. This section does not include many articles but the ones that it
does could be of great use. Such articles are waste water in Thailand,
secondhand smoke from Indonesia's fires, and Japan’s problem with space for
waste. More general environmental articles about Asia as a whole include the
rapid growth of Asia as the reason for environmental degradation, and how an
Eco-friendly image takes hard work.
Although I have only selected a few topics to talk about, they are all of
great use. This web site provides a great amount information to doing
Business in Asia; however, it needs to be more user friendly.http://web3.asia1.com.sg/timesnet/navigatn/ab.html
