        Through searching for a non-U.S produced business radio,  I found a new Korean
radio station which had I never heard of before. It is called Radio Korean International.
This station provides information and news about Korean politics, business and
culture for foreign people who want to know what is happening in Korea or for
those Koreans who are staying in other countries. There is one great advantage
in this radio station. They provide their news in 10 different languages: Korean,
English, Indonesian, German, French, Spanish, Chinese, Russian, Japanese and
Arabic. It's very useful for foreigners and Koreans who living outside their
country.

        There I listened with Susan Lee about South Korea and New Zealand's announcement
of a joint statement. I listened to this news in both Korean and English. I
could understand more when I just listen in English or Korean. Because this
news was head new for that day, I could easily find it and listen to all the
details.

        South Korea and New Zealand Announced a Joint Statement Wednesday on forming
a renewed partnership and wider cooperation at the bilateral and multilateral.
South Korean President Kim, Dea-jung and New Zealand Prime Minister Jenny Shipley
announced the 19-point statement after summit talks on North Korea, emigration
by Koreans to New Zealand and economic and social cooperation. Jenny Shipley
also welcomed an agreement between U.S and North Korea and hoped for good results
in future negotiation about the North Korea missile issue. At this point, I
felt the difference between a Korean domestic radio station and a Korean radio
station for foreign countries. Usually, Korean domestic radio programs present
the news in their point of view, which never oppose the Korean government's
current political and social policy, especially, in North Korea. But this radio
station presents their news in a worldview, which is very realistic and more
critical. I definitely satisfied with their style.

         Following this news, President Kim, of South Korea thanked New Zealand and
its constructive role and intention in promoting peace and stability on the
Korean peninsular. Also, two countries agreed on various economic projects including
the exchange and dispatch of science technology delegation. In addition, they
agreed on an airline industry to open more passengers and flight service between
them. I think this news shows an exact example of Radio Korea International
news style. They try to provide more international issues related to business
and politics. Joint statements between South Korea and New Zealand gives Korea
a better situation of their international business. So it's very useful news
that we should be aware of.

        Lastly, this radio station provides several useful sections. We are able to
hear their live broadcasting. Also, there are sections that introduce Korean
culture and Korean language. I didn't know that there was this very useful radio
station to help in my studies like Radio Korean International. From now, I will
try to listen their news in order to get realistic and critical news from my
country.
